What is deSide?
deSide® is installed software that was initially released in 2004 and has been
progressively enhanced since that time to meet the needs of an increasing number of clients,
who are:
(a) Large Energy Users, who are spending more than $1M each year (in some cases
much, much more than $1M) in purchasing electricity from Australia's
National Electricity Market (NEM); or
(b) Aggregators of smaller (though still sizeable) loads for collective
dispatch through the NEM; or
(c) Provision of distributed and embedded generation within the boundaries of
Large Energy Users.
Since its release in 2004, deSide has continued to grow in popularity to the stage where it provides an essential service to a large number of energy users, and other clients.
The deSide package incorporates a number of discrete components, as follows:

With your licence to deSide, you will receive one copy of the deSide Updater (or two copies, for added redundancy, for Silver Model). The deSide Updater will run continuously, as a service, on your server PC to update your central SQL server database with a core set of NEMMCO's dispatch, trading and predispatch data for the NEM. |

The deSide Client (or Browser) The deSide Client sits on top of the central SQL server database and can be installed on multiple PCs to allow you, and your staff, to access information contained within the SQL server database. The package is set up to allow various people (operations, maintenance, finance etc...) all to have access, at their convenience. |

Your deSide "Ticker" provides you a compact view. This tool allows you to maximise the use of your on-screen real-estate, showing the most important data from NEMMCO (and having it colour-coded) to ensure that you don't miss a beat whilst you are working on other things. |
All together, the deSide package is designed to help you minimise your costs of electricity purchasing in the NEM.
